Leviticus 27:29-34

If a man wishes to redeem some of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it.

Lev. 27:31 NIV

Can we borrow from the tithe?

If you keep your tithe in a separate place at home waiting to deliver it later on, you may borrow from that money if you have an emergency, but you'll have to add 25% of the original amount when you put it back. Besides, you have to return it as soon as possible. That way you won't lose the blessing.
